Ted Sarandos Meets PM Modi to Boost Indian Content
Marking a decade of operations in India, Netflix announced the launch of the Netflix India Storytelling Initiative, a major investment aimed at nurturing the next generation of Indian creative talent through education and skill development.
The announcement followed a meeting between Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where both discussed a shared vision of taking India's media and entertainment industry to the global stage.
Sharing the update on social media, Netflix India said the initiative will be implemented through skilling and education partnerships with the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). The programme aims to empower aspiring storytellers, filmmakers, and creative professionals while strengthening India's position as a global content powerhouse.
The company described the initiative as part of its long-term commitment to India's creative economy and expressed optimism about the future of Indian storytelling.
