Oman FM Badr Albusaidi Says Hormuz Transit Corridor May Open Soon

Oman Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi said constructive discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Dr Abbas Araghchi in Tehran could soon result in a temporary corridor for the Strait of Hormuz.

In a social media post, Albusaidi said he was hopeful that the two sides would announce arrangements aimed at restoring safe navigation through the strategically important waterway.

He added that future management of the Strait of Hormuz and a permanent solution would be addressed subsequently, in accordance with Article 5 of the Islamabad Memorandum.

Albusaidi also said discussions with regional partners would take place in support of peace and cooperation, regional stability and freedom of navigation.

The Strait of Hormuz is a vital international maritime route, making efforts to restore safe and uninterrupted navigation significant for regional security and global trade.
