Pep Guardiola Signs Off: Emotional Farewell Ends Historic Manchester City Era

Pep Guardiola brought the curtain down on an extraordinary chapter at Manchester City as he took charge of his 593rd and final match for the club on Sunday, ending a remarkable decade-long journey at the Etihad Stadium.

Over ten unforgettable years, Guardiola transformed Manchester City into one of football’s most dominant forces, collecting an astonishing 20 trophies and reshaping the club’s identity with his tactical brilliance and relentless pursuit of excellence.

Reflecting on his emotional farewell, Guardiola admitted that the memories and connections built during his journey mean more than the silverware itself.

"I have been here for 10 years and of course the baggage, the memories that are put inside. It’s more than any other part," Guardiola said.

The Spanish manager also acknowledged the role success played in sustaining his tenure at the club.

"There are 20 trophies? Absolutely. If not 20 trophies they would sack me before. Win, win, win then it's continue, continue, continue," he remarked with honesty.

While the trophy haul speaks for itself, Guardiola emphasized that the relationships formed over the years hold the deepest value.

"When you are not at home and you see the trophies in the cabinet I say how happy I am because I won one league. It’s the memories, the connections I had."

"I can’t explain but the connections I had from day one, with the city I would say but especially the staff and the players."

Guardiola leaves behind a legacy that goes far beyond titles — a legacy of innovation, excellence, and unforgettable football that has defined an era for Manchester City supporters around the world.
