Nirmala Sitharaman Says Government Open to Investor Feedback on Tax System and Rupee Policy
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that the government remains open to listening to public concerns and stakeholder suggestions regarding stock market performance, taxation issues and broader investment-related matters.
Responding to questions on investors' demand for a re-evaluation of the tax system, Sitharaman emphasized the government's willingness to engage with market participants and consider their feedback.
"On this specific issue, and on any issue, we are always ready and willing to listen to the people. We will certainly take their inputs," the Finance Minister said while referring to suggestions coming from stock market investors.
Addressing questions on the Indian Rupee and investment-related concerns, Sitharaman said that the government has received extensive feedback from multiple sources.
According to her, inputs have come voluntarily from the public while additional recommendations have also been gathered internally through different departments.
She further stated that authorities are carefully examining all recommendations before arriving at any decisions.
The remarks come at a time when market participants are closely watching economic policies, taxation structures and currency-related developments, with investors seeking measures aimed at supporting market confidence and strengthening economic growth.
