India’s UPI Goes Live at Galeries Lafayette Nice Massena in France

Union Minister Piyush Goyal has announced the launch of India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) at the iconic Galeries Lafayette Nice Massena, marking another major milestone in the international expansion of India's world-leading digital payments ecosystem.

Sharing the development on social media, the minister expressed his delight at bringing UPI to one of France’s premier retail destinations. The initiative has been made possible through the participation of Lyra Collect and NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), showcasing India's ability to deliver trusted, seamless, and interoperable digital payment solutions on a global scale.

The launch enables Indian travelers and consumers to use UPI-based payment methods at the renowned French retail establishment, enhancing convenience and promoting cashless transactions across borders.

According to the minister, this expansion represents another significant step in UPI's growing international footprint. It also highlights India's leadership in digital public infrastructure and financial technology innovation.
