Trump Says Iran Will Never Have a Nuclear Weapon, Hopes for Better Relations

US President Donald Trump has reiterated that preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon remains a top priority of his administration, while also expressing hope for improved relations between Washington and Tehran.

Speaking about ongoing diplomatic efforts involving Iran, Trump stated that Tehran would not be permitted to develop, purchase, or acquire a nuclear weapon under any circumstances. He warned that any violation would result in severe repercussions.

“The only thing that really matters to me is Iran will never have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said. He added that Iran would face “unbelievable consequences” if it attempted to obtain one.

Despite his strong warning, Trump struck a conciliatory tone regarding future relations with Iran.

“With that being said, I hope we have a very good relationship,” he remarked, signaling continued support for diplomatic engagement alongside security concerns.

Trump’s comments come amid ongoing discussions surrounding a memorandum of understanding and broader negotiations aimed at limiting Iran’s nuclear capabilities while reducing regional tensions. Recent reports indicate that nuclear restrictions remain a central element of the evolving US-Iran diplomatic framework.

The remarks underscore Washington’s longstanding position that Iran must not acquire nuclear weapons, while also highlighting efforts to pursue a diplomatic path toward stability in the Middle East.
