Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday appealed to voters in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal to actively participate in the ongoing Assembly elections, urging citizens to turn out in large numbers and strengthen the democratic process.

In his message, the Prime Minister particularly encouraged young voters and women in both states to vote enthusiastically and contribute to what he described as a celebration of democracy.

Polling has begun across all 234 constituencies in Tamil Nadu, while in West Bengal, voting is underway in 152 of the 294 Assembly seats in the first phase of the elections.
Election authorities have ensured tight security arrangements and smooth conduct of polling across all constituencies as voters head to polling stations since morning.
The Assembly elections in both states are being closely watched, with key political parties contesting on issues including development, governance, employment, and public welfare.
