PM Modi Hails 1st World Yogasana Sports Championship 2026 as Global Yoga Movement Reaches New Heights

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the growing global popularity of Yoga ahead of the inaugural World Yogasana Sports Championship 2026, set to begin in Ahmedabad on June 4.

In a post on social media platform X, PM Modi described the championship as a significant milestone for Yogasana on the global sporting stage. He highlighted the event's role in bringing together Yoga enthusiasts and athletes from across the world, showcasing India's ancient tradition in a modern competitive format.

The Prime Minister announced that he will join the championship virtually at around 6:40 PM on June 4. Congratulating the organizers for conceptualizing and hosting the innovative event, he extended his best wishes to all participants.

The 1st World Yogasana Sports Championship 2026 is expected to feature competitors from numerous countries, reflecting Yoga's increasing recognition as both a wellness practice and a competitive sport.
