In a message posted on Instagram, PM Modi said India’s economic progress was particularly significant against the backdrop of global uncertainty, conflicts, disrupted supply chains and continuing crises that have affected economies around the world.
The Prime Minister noted that stability has remained elusive globally since the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020. Despite these challenges, he said, India has continued to progress rapidly.
PM Modi also criticised what he described as pessimism and the spread of falsehoods and despair within the country, saying India had overcome such obstacles to achieve the 7.8% growth rate.
‘We must maintain this momentum’
The Prime Minister called on the country to sustain its economic momentum and continue moving forward. He stressed that achieving Atmanirbhar Bharat — a self-reliant India — is essential for strengthening the nation's economic resilience and ensuring continued progress.
The message placed the latest growth figure within a broader narrative of India's resilience amid a difficult global economic and geopolitical environment.
The Prime Minister's message was ultimately one of confidence: India must build on its current momentum, strengthen its domestic capabilities and continue its journey toward a more self-reliant economy.
