Modi will begin his visit in Indonesia from July 6 to 8 at the invitation of President Prabowo Subianto. The visit marks his first bilateral trip to Indonesia since both countries elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during his 2018 visit. It also follows President Prabowo's visit to India as the Chief Guest for the 2025 Republic Day celebrations.
Highlighting the deep civilisational links between India and Indonesia, the Prime Minister said he would interact with the Indian diaspora and visit the historic Prambanan Temple complex in Yogyakarta alongside President Prabowo, underscoring the shared cultural heritage of the two countries.
Following Indonesia, Modi will travel to Melbourne, Australia, where he will hold talks with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Discussions are expected to focus on expanding cooperation in defence and security, trade and investment, education, mobility and people-to-people exchanges under the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The final leg of the tour will take the Prime Minister to New Zealand, as India continues to enhance engagement with key partners across the Indo-Pacific region.
The three-nation visit reflects India's growing diplomatic outreach and its commitment to strengthening regional cooperation, economic partnerships and strategic security across the Indo-Pacific.
