PM Narendra Modi Arrives in Oslo for Historic Norway Visit, Set to Strengthen India-Norway Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Oslo, Norway, beginning a significant diplomatic visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between India and the Nordic region. Sharing his message on social media, PM Modi expressed gratitude to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre for the warm welcome extended at the airport. Calling the trip historic, PM Modi highlighted that this marks the first Prime Ministerial visit from India to Norway in more than four decades. He expressed confidence that the visit would bring renewed momentum and fresh energy to the growing friendship between India and Norway. During his visit, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to meet Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway and hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre on matters of mutual interest. The Prime Minister will also participate in the 3rd India-Nordic Summit on May 19 in Oslo, providing an important platform to engage with Nordic leaders and further deepen cooperation across trade, innovation, technology, sustainability, and strategic partnerships. The visit is expected to open new avenues of collaboration and reinforce India’s engagement with the Nordic region.
