PM Modi Seva Yatra: Focus on Social Reform, Positive Change Over Vote Bank Politics

PM Modi Seva Yatra message took centre stage on Friday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted virtually with participants of the ongoing motorcycle rally travelling from Varanasi to Vadnagar. During the interaction, Modi urged political workers to prioritise social reform, public service and positive change instead of focusing on vote-bank politics.

The Seva Yatra is being conducted as part of the wider Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which marks 25 years of Prime Minister Modi's public life. The motorcycle journeys connecting Vadnagar in Gujarat and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh began on September 17 and are scheduled to continue until October 7.

PM Modi Emphasises Social Reform

During his interaction with the Seva Yatris, Prime Minister Modi referred to the life and work of Mahatma Gandhi. He said Gandhi was not only a leader of India's freedom movement but also a social reformer who worked against social evils.

Drawing from Gandhi's example, Modi said political workers should continue working for social reform and positive changes in society rather than concentrating on vote banks. He also stressed that those who serve society deserve recognition and respect.

The Prime Minister's remarks placed social service and grassroots engagement at the centre of his message to the participants travelling across towns, districts and villages.

Urban-Rural Gap Has Narrowed, Says PM Modi

During the interaction, Modi also spoke about changes he said India has witnessed over the past 12 years.

According to the Prime Minister, the gap between cities and villages has narrowed considerably, while infrastructure in rural areas has improved significantly. He also highlighted what he described as increasing self-reliance among women in the country.

The Seva Yatra itself is designed to take participants through different communities and provide opportunities to interact directly with residents, beneficiaries and people involved in local service activities.
