Day 5 at Asian Games 2026: Team India Hits New Milestones
Day 5 at the Asian Games 2026 brought a series of historic achievements and strong performances for Team India, with medals across Wushu, Athletics, Rowing and Shooting.
Roshibina Devi created history by winning her third consecutive Asian Games medal in Wushu, continuing her remarkable continental record.
Athletics delivered two more podium finishes. Seema ended a 16-year wait for India in the women's 10,000m, winning a medal in the event, while India also secured another medal on the track.
India also achieved historic milestones in Rowing and Shooting. Satnam Singh and Salman Khan won India's first-ever Asian Games medal in the Men's Double Sculls. In Skeet Mixed Team, Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Anantjeet Singh Naruka secured India's first-ever medal in the event.
In Boxing, Parveen advanced to the quarterfinals, keeping India's campaign alive in the ring. Squash, Table Tennis and Kabaddi also continued their winning runs.
On the hockey field, India produced another emphatic performance, defeating South Korea 8–2.
The country's esports campaign also gained momentum, with debutant Paritosh progressing to the quarterfinals.
