PM Modi to Embark on Five-Nation Tour Covering UAE, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy from May 15

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi will undertake a multi-nation diplomatic visit from May 15 to 20, 2026, covering the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Sunday.

The first leg of the visit will see PM Modi travel to the United Arab Emirates on May 15, where he is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening strategic, economic, trade, and energy cooperation between the two nations.

In the second phase of the tour, Prime Minister Modi will visit the Netherlands from May 15 to 17 at the invitation of Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten. The visit is expected to deepen cooperation in areas including technology, innovation, climate action, and trade.

For the third leg, PM Modi will travel to Sweden from May 17 to 18 and attend engagements in Gothenburg at the invitation of Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. Bilateral discussions are likely to focus on green transition, sustainable industries, and digital innovation.

During the fourth leg of the tour, the Prime Minister will visit Norway from May 18 to 19 to participate in the 3rd India-Nordic Summit alongside bilateral meetings with Nordic leaders. The summit is expected to strengthen India’s engagement with Nordic countries in clean energy, maritime cooperation, technology, and Arctic policy.

The final leg of the visit will include engagements in Italy on May 19-20, where PM Modi is expected to hold high-level meetings aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation and global strategic coordination
