Prime Minister Narendra Modi, upon arriving in Tashkent, visited the Yangi Uzbekistan Monument along with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and laid a wreath at the monument.

Sharing details of the visit on social media, PM Modi said that the Yangi Uzbekistan Monument reflects the aspirations and progress of the Uzbek people. He added that he was glad to begin his visit to Uzbekistan by paying tribute at the landmark.
The Prime Minister also shared the message in Uzbek, highlighting the significance of the Mustaqillik Monument at Yangi Uzbekistan Park and describing it as a reflection of the Uzbek people's aspirations and achievements.
The visit comes as India and Uzbekistan continue to strengthen their longstanding bilateral ties and cooperation across multiple areas.
