The attack, carried out by Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba in Jammu and Kashmir, claimed the lives of 26 innocent people, most of them tourists from different parts of India. The incident had sent shockwaves across the country, triggering widespread outrage and grief.

He added that his thoughts remain with the bereaved families as they continue to cope with the tragic loss. Emphasizing national unity, Modi said, “As a nation, we stand united in grief and resolve. India will never bow to any form of terror. The heinous designs of terrorists will never succeed.”
Following the attack, India launched a retaliatory military operation named Operation Sindoor, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation marked a strong response by Indian armed forces against cross-border terrorism.
The anniversary serves as a solemn reminder of the lives lost and reinforces India’s continued commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms.
