President Murmu Strengthens India-Romania Parliamentary Ties
President Droupadi Murmu met the President of the Senate of Romania, H.E. Mircea Abrudean, and the President of the Chamber of Deputies, H.E. Sorin Grindeanu, at the Parliament Palace in Bucharest during her official visit to Romania.

The President also interacted with members of the India-Romania Parliamentary Friendship Group. Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Smt. Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, along with Members of Parliament Dr. Dinesh Sharma and Shri Vijay Baghel, were present during the meeting.
Highlighting the shared democratic values of both nations, President Murmu said India and Romania, as vibrant parliamentary democracies, should deepen engagement between their parliamentary institutions. She noted that regular exchanges between lawmakers would provide valuable opportunities to share experiences and best legislative practices while further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The discussions underscored the commitment of both countries to enhancing parliamentary diplomacy and expanding the India-Romania partnership across multiple sectors.
