PSG Make History With Back-to-Back UEFA Super Cup Triumph

Paris Saint-Germain defeated Aston Villa 2-1 at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg, Austria, to retain the UEFA Super Cup and secure back-to-back titles in the competition.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring for PSG in the 20th minute, cutting inside before unleashing a powerful finish to put Luis Enrique's side ahead.

Aston Villa responded just before halftime through 17-year-old debutant Brian Madjo. The youngster converted a close-range volley from John McGinn's cross, becoming the youngest goalscorer in UEFA Super Cup history.

PSG restored their advantage in the 61st minute when Désiré Doué curled the ball into the net from a pass by substitute Ousmane Dembélé. The goal initially appeared to be ruled out for offside, but a VAR review overturned the decision and confirmed the strike.

The victory saw PSG become the first club since Real Madrid nine years ago to successfully defend the UEFA Super Cup title, adding another major achievement to the French club's growing European legacy.
