Former IPS officer R N Ravi took oath as the 22nd Governor of West Bengal on Thursday morning at a solemn ceremony in Lok Bhavan. Administered by Calcutta High Court Chief Justice Sujoy Paul, the event unfolded in the presence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee, senior minister and Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim, and Left Front chairman Biman Bose.
R N Ravi steps into the role following the resignation of predecessor C V Ananda Bose on March 5. A seasoned administrator, he previously served as Governor of Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Tamil Nadu.
