By Editorial Team 👁 13
Rahul Gandhi, while addressing a political rally in West Bengal, launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Election Commission of India, alleging large-scale removal of voter names from electoral rolls through the SIR process. He claimed that millions of voters in the state have been disenfranchised, terming it a serious threat to democracy. Gandhi said that taking away the right to vote is equivalent to silencing citizens and described the alleged move as a direct assault on the Constitution envisioned by B. R. Ambedkar. Reassuring those affected, he promised that every deleted name would be restored and their constitutional rights reinstated. He further labeled “vote theft” as an anti-national act and warned that those responsible would face strict legal consequences.
