Rahul Gandhi Vows to Fight to Restore Democracy in India
Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has vowed to continue the fight to restore democracy in India, alleging that the country's democratic institutions, electoral system and Constitution have been undermined. Addressing a gathering in Delhi, Gandhi asserted that opposition parties were united under a common mission to restore democratic governance.
🔹We are standing together as one. There are no parallel protests, only one single protest with one mission: to restore democracy in India. 🔹 Democracy has been destroyed, the electoral system undermined, and the Constitution torn up. We are fighting together to restore democratic rule. 🔹The government has barred protests at Jantar Mantar, a platform for democratic expression. We will challenge this decision. 🔹 Modi is the main architect, Amit Shah the implementer, and Gyanesh Kumar and others are complicit. They must understand that the net is closing around them. They cannot destroy the Constitution and get away with it. 🔹Yesterday, you witnessed an expression not merely of political parties standing here, but of the people of India. 🙏 We thank the people of Delhi and the people of India for standing with us. 🔹We are committed to fighting to the very end to restore the democratic process. 🔹 Our promise to the people is that those responsible, including Modi, Shah, Gyanesh Kumar, and others, will be brought to justice. : LoP Shri @RahulGandhi 📍 Delhi

Rahul Gandhi Criticises Restrictions on Protests
Gandhi criticised the reported restrictions on protests at Jantar Mantar, describing the venue as an important platform for democratic expression. He said the opposition would challenge the decision.
Accusing the government of weakening democratic institutions, Gandhi alleged that the electoral system had been undermined and the Constitution disregarded. He maintained that the opposition was committed to fighting until the democratic process was restored.
Rahul Gandhi Targets Narendra Modi and Amit Shah
In his address, Gandhi named Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and others, accusing them of being responsible for the alleged erosion of democratic processes.
He warned that those he held responsible could not undermine the Constitution without facing accountability. Gandhi also promised that the opposition would continue its efforts to bring the individuals concerned to justice.
Opposition Vows to Continue Its Campaign
Gandhi said the gathering represented not just political parties but also the voices of people across the country. He reiterated that the movement would continue until democratic governance and the electoral process were restored.
His remarks signal the opposition's continued confrontation with the BJP-led government over allegations concerning democratic institutions, electoral integrity and the constitutional framework.
