RAJASTHAN STATE ELECTION : Voting for the State Assembly is underway today in the state of Rajasthan. Though the state has a total
of 200 constituencies, voters are exercising their franchise for 199 constituencies or seats on Saturday,
November 25, 2023. Polling for the Karanpur seat has been postponed owing to the death of the
Congress candidate, Gurmeet Singh Koonar.
The North-western state bordering Pakistan has 33 districts and the Congress Party which is incumbent
is eyeing a second term. Approximately 1900 candidates are in the race for the 199 seats, including the
present Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
Counting of votes is scheduled to start on Sunday morning and results are expected on December 3,
2023, along with the states of Telangana, Mizoram, Chhatisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh where the State
Assembly elections were recently held.
Over 55% voter turnout was reported till 3 pm today.
