Actor’s latest shoutout to Preity Zinta sparks nostalgic reactions on social media

Salman Khan’s latest tweet congratulating Preity Zinta after Punjab Kings’ win in the IPL has taken the internet on a nostalgic ride. The actor’s post reminded fans of his viral 2014 tweet, “Zinta’s team won kya?” which had gained widespread attention at the time.

On Monday, Salman tweeted, “Well done Zinta, congratulations Zinta, team is playing well… @realpreityzinta,” applauding her team’s recent victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 11. Soon after, social media users began revisiting his old tweet, calling the moment a “sequel” more than a decade later.

Fans reacted with humour, with one user writing, “Sequel released after 12 years,” while another commented, “We got Salman recreating his tweet before GTA 6.” Several others praised the actor’s camaraderie with Preity, calling it a “legendary” moment.

Salman Khan and Preity Zinta have previously worked together in films such as Chori Chori Chupke Chupke (2001) and Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega (2000).

In the match, Punjab Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by six wickets, with skipper Shreyas Iyer scoring 69 runs, while Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh contributed with fifties.

On the work front, Salman Khan is set to appear in Maatrubhumi, a project that has undergone several changes in recent weeks. Meanwhile, Preity Zinta is preparing for her return to the big screen with Lahore 1947 and Vibe, the latter directed by Kunal Kemmu.
