India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty booked their place in the men’s doubles quarterfinals at the BWF World Championships after surviving a thrilling three-game battle against Malaysia’s Junaidi Arif and Roy King Yap.

The Indian duo were pushed all the way by their Malaysian opponents, losing the opening game 21-23. However, Satwik and Chirag showed composure under pressure, responding strongly to take the second game 21-19 and level the contest.

With a quarterfinal spot at stake, the Indians maintained their intensity in the decider and completed a hard-fought 21-23, 21-19, 21-17 victory.

The comeback win highlights the resilience of the Indian pair, who continue their pursuit of a deep run at the prestigious world championships. With the Round of 16 hurdle cleared, Satwik and Chirag will now turn their attention to the quarterfinals and another crucial step towards the podium.
