Scindia Outlines Roadmap to Make India a Global Telecom Manufacturing and Innovation Hub

Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia addressed the Investors' Round Table for India's first Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ) in Gwalior, outlining the Centre's roadmap to transform India into a global telecom manufacturing hub.

Speaking at the event, Scindia said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of "Vocal for Local," "Local to Global," and "Make in India, Make for the World" is driving India's journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.

Calling telecommunications the "central nervous system" of the modern world, the minister said the sector has become the backbone of business, trade, governance, and everyday life. He stressed that India must transition from a services-led economy to a product-driven nation.

Scindia identified three key pillars to achieve this transformation: increasing value addition in manufacturing, creating intellectual property (IP), and ensuring Indian-made products reach global markets. He said the government's role is to build an enabling ecosystem that supports innovators, entrepreneurs, startups, and established manufacturers.

The minister added that the Telecom Manufacturing Zone in Gwalior is expected to strengthen India's manufacturing capabilities, encourage innovation, attract investments, and position the country as a leading global producer of telecom products.
