Scott Morrison Says India-Australia Ties Will Grow Stronger

Former Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has expressed confidence that the India-Australia relationship will continue to deepen, describing it as one of the most significant strategic partnerships in the Indo-Pacific.

Reflecting on his time in office alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Morrison said the two leaders helped elevate bilateral ties to their current level and welcomed the continued commitment of the government led by Anthony Albanese.

"During the time that Prime Minister Modi and I shared the roles that we had, we were able to elevate it to the level it's now at and I am very pleased that it has been maintained by the Albanese government. This relationship is only going to get stronger."
Morrison described Prime Minister Modi's visit to Melbourne as highly significant, adding that the partnership now extends well beyond diplomacy into advanced technology, industrial collaboration and resilient supply chains.

"The Prime Minister's visit here to Melbourne is incredibly important. Equally there is a technology sharing, a scale and an industrial supply chain relationship with India."

He said the expanding cooperation reflects the growing strategic, economic and technological alignment between the two countries, positioning India and Australia as key partners in shaping a secure, resilient and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
