Sean Combs transfer confirmed from New Jersey prison to Pennsylvania
The Sean Combs transfer to a federal prison in Pennsylvania was confirmed by the US Bureau of Prisons on Friday, October 16. The 56-year-old music executive is moving from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low, according to reports.
The destination is a low-security prison south of Williamsport, about 250 kilometres west of New York City. The bureau acknowledged the move without explaining why it had been ordered.
Officials said privacy, safety and security considerations prevented discussion of an individual prisoner's confinement or transfer. Combs' spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, also said the decision rested with the bureau and declined to describe the circumstances.
Officials reject reported prison fight
The Sean Combs transfer follows allegations about his treatment at Fort Dix. Reports claimed he had access to contraband alcohol and a mobile phone and received services from other inmates; those claims remain allegations.
A separate account alleged that he had been hurt during a fight and taken outside prison for medical care on October 14. The Bureau of Prisons expressly denied that account, saying the reported incident had not occurred.
According to a person familiar with the matter, Combs was placed in special housing after the earlier allegations. That section separates prisoners from the general population for disciplinary or security reasons.
The same account said he had lost 41 days of credit for good conduct. His revised release date was given as March 2, 2028.
Combs is serving a sentence of four years and two months following last year's conviction on prostitution-related counts involving interstate travel for sexual encounters. His lawyers have challenged both the conviction and sentence, arguing that the punishment was excessive; an appeals court heard arguments in April and has yet to decide.
