India’s para-archery sensation Sheetal Devi has been crowned champion at the 2026 World Archery Para Series in Ahmedabad, delivering a remarkable performance in the women’s compound individual event.

The 19-year-old armless archer produced a dramatic finish against Kazakhstan’s Aizada Seidan in the final. With the gold medal hanging in the balance, Sheetal held her nerve in the decisive shoot-off and struck a perfect 10, while Seidan managed a nine.

The crucial shot sealed the victory for the home favourite and added another major international title to Sheetal Devi’s rapidly growing list of achievements.

The triumph further strengthens the reputation of the World No. 1 as one of the leading figures in global para archery. Her remarkable journey has already earned her recognition as World Archery’s Para Archer of the Year, and her latest Ahmedabad victory adds another landmark chapter to her inspiring sporting career.
