Shiv Sena to write to EC to bar rebel MLAs from using Balasaheb Thackeray’s name

Maharashtra political crisis:Taking dissident Shiv Sena MLAs head on, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has accused them of betrayal and challenged them to try and wean away common party workers.

He also slammed rebel leader Eknath Shinde and tore into the BJP, saying it wants to “finish off” his outfit and does not want to share its Hindu votebank.

At its national executive meet, Shiv Sena passes resolution not to allow any party to use ‘Shiv Sena’ or ‘Balasaheb Thackeray’ in its name. Party to write to Election Commission of India.

Shiv Sena will approach the Election Commission to ensure that Balasaheb Thackeray’s and party’s name is not used by any other faction.

No one should use Balasaheb’s name, says Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.

Earlier rebel MLAs led by Eknath Shinde had decided to name their group as ‘Shiv Sena Balasaheb’.
