Shubman Gill Set for BCCI Cricketer of the Year Honour

India's Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill is poised to claim the Cricketer of the Year title at the BCCI's annual awards ceremony here on March 15. The 26-year-old, overlooked for the T20 squad that defended the World Cup crown last month, delivered a dominant year across formats. He piled up 983 Test runs at an average exceeding 70, including a mammoth 754 during the drawn 2025 series in England. In ODIs, Gill notched 490 runs, with 188 in India's triumphant Champions Trophy campaign. Across all formats, his haul reached 1,764 runs at 49 apiece, featuring seven centuries and three fifties. T20I struggles aside, Gill fired in the IPL, amassing 650 runs for Gujarat Titans at a strike rate underscoring his 50 average. In a separate highlight, former India head coach Rahul Dravid will receive the Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award for his transformative role in Indian cricket, capped by the 2024 T20 World Cup victory.The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) rounds out the honours as Best Association in domestic cricket.
