Sonam Wangchuk Hails Pradhan Exit as Democratic Victory

Activist Sonam Wangchuk welcomed the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, describing the development as a "victory for democracy" and calling for comprehensive reforms in both education and governance.

Reacting to the government's decision, Wangchuk said he respected the steps taken by the Centre and thanked everyone who participated in the movement, including the CJP team, volunteers, students, youth, and citizens across the country.

Calling the outcome a triumph of democratic values, Wangchuk said he especially appreciated the peaceful nature of the protests and expressed hope that the spirit of non-violence would continue.

However, he stressed that resignation alone is not enough and urged the government to focus on long-term reforms.

"A nation isn't built by resignation alone. There should be reform in education, and further work should be done on that," Wangchuk said.

He expressed hope that the government's response would lead to meaningful changes not only in the education system but also in governance.

Wangchuk added that he hoped the country would be governed with "love and affection, not fear," and guided by truth and justice, emphasizing that lasting reforms are essential to rebuilding public trust.
