Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi reiterated his support for students involved in the ongoing protests, thanking them for their determination and assuring them of the Congress party's continued backing.

Speaking to the media, Gandhi said he was grateful to students "from the bottom of my heart" and pledged to extend support whenever needed. He said the Congress party had wholeheartedly backed the protest movement and would continue to stand with students.

"We are here to protect the students of India, to protect the future of India," Gandhi said, describing the movement as a fight for the country's future.

The Congress leader also drew a political contrast, saying the contest was between "the past," represented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the RSS, and "the future of India." He expressed confidence that "the future of India will defeat the past."

The remarks come amid continued political debate over the student movement, with the Congress positioning itself in support of the protesters' demands.
