CM Suvendu Adhikari Pledges Justice for Baruipur Victims
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday said the state government is taking all necessary measures to ensure that incidents like the recent violence in Baruipur, South 24 Parganas, do not recur anywhere in the state.
Addressing the media, the Chief Minister said the government has been in constant touch with senior police officials, including the Commissioner of Police (CP) and Superintendent of Police (SP), to closely monitor the situation.
Adhikari said the administration has met the family of the victim and assured them of all possible assistance. He also stated that police investigations indicate the man who was assaulted in the alleged mob lynching was innocent, and his family has also been assured of justice.
The Chief Minister revealed that around 200 people involved in damaging police vehicles and vandalising railway property have been identified. He warned that strict legal action would be taken against everyone responsible.
Adhikari further alleged that certain rejected political elements, radical groups, and anti-national forces had instigated the violence. According to him, three of the four key accused have already been arrested, while efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspect.
He also announced that a new police outpost will be established in the area to strengthen security and prevent similar incidents in the future.
The state government reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring justice for all those affected by the violence.
