Swiss Touch in India: Guy Parmelin Highlights Noida Airport’s Zurich Connection
Swiss President Guy Parmelin has highlighted the growing Swiss connection in India through the newly operational Noida International Airport, which is operated by a subsidiary of Flughafen Zürich, the company behind Zurich Airport.

Sharing his experience on social media, Parmelin said he had the opportunity to visit the airport as it began operations in June, in the presence of Minister Shri Sunil Kumar Sharma.
Describing the development as a “Swiss touch in India”, Parmelin pointed to the role of Flughafen Zürich in operating the airport, strengthening the business and infrastructure links between Switzerland and India.
The Noida International Airport is expected to emerge as a major aviation hub for the National Capital Region. In the long term, the airport is projected to handle up to 70 million passengers annually, significantly expanding India's aviation capacity.
The Swiss President’s remarks underline the importance of international partnerships in India’s rapidly expanding aviation and infrastructure sector, while also showcasing the growing footprint of Swiss expertise in the country.
