Swiss President Guy Parmelin Highlights Growing Indo-Swiss Research Ties
Swiss President Guy Parmelin has highlighted the growing scientific and technological cooperation between India and Switzerland, during the second day of his State Visit to India.

Parmelin said he was invited to participate in the first Indo-Swiss Research Flagship Event, bringing together the two countries’ growing scientific and technological partnerships.
In a social media post, the Swiss President said the technological and scientific collaborations between India and Switzerland are already “numerous and promising.”
He also highlighted his meeting with Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, saying the discussions confirmed the strong momentum in bilateral cooperation in science and technology.
Parmelin said the progress was particularly encouraging for the future of the India-EFTA Free Trade Agreement, which builds on two decades of cooperation between the two countries in science and technology.
The research flagship event underscores the importance of innovation, research and technology in strengthening the long-standing India-Switzerland partnership and creating new opportunities for collaboration.
