Former Mayor of Kolkata municipal corporation and BJP leader Sovan Chatterjee met with BJP leaders of Kolkata zone on Sunday. Pratap Banerjee, Shankudev Panda ,Kailash Vijayvergiya and Amitav Chakraborty were present in the meeting.
There were speculation, whether he would present in BJP’s rally on Monday in Kolkata. Sovan Chatterjee along with her friend Baisakhi Banerjee assured that they will walk in the rally on Monday. Sovan also showed his disappointment over his former party’s man management. After coming out from the meeting, Sovan Chatterjee said, “I was not in the state when my name was announced and I was given the responsibility of Kolkata zone. Tomorrow there will be a rally from Golpark to Selimpur, I will be there is the rally and will request everyone to join. TMC was founded in 1998 after getting green signal from BJP. TMC needs to see themselves why old founder members can’t stay in the party. Mukul Roy was there when TMC was founded but he is not been able to continue in the party. The attack on Nadda ji was not a great sign in Bengal. This shows that the party workers are cutting their own tree. It’s very unfortunate that founder members are not being able to stay in that party”.
