US President Donald Trump reaffirmed strong ties between the United States and India, describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a "great" friend during an event marking the 250th anniversary celebrations of American independence.

Speaking during a phone interaction at the event, Trump praised Prime Minister Modi and highlighted the strengthening relationship between the two nations.

"I love Prime Minister Modi. Modi is great. He is my friend, and I just want to say a very good evening to everybody," Trump said.

The US President further emphasized his admiration for the Indian leader, stating, "I am a big, big fan of Prime Minister Modi."
Reiterating support for India, Trump said the bilateral relationship had reached new heights.

"We've never been closer to India, and India can count on me 100 per cent and our country. If they ever need help, they know where to call," he remarked.

Apart from discussing India-US relations, Trump also highlighted the performance of the American economy, claiming strong economic indicators and record stock market achievements.

The remarks come amid growing strategic cooperation between India and the United States across trade, defense, technology, and geopolitical partnerships.
