"Trump Controls Modi, Modi Controls Pinarayi": Rahul Gandhi’s Explosive Claim Rocks Keralam Campaign

In a scathing escalation of the war of words ahead of the 2026 Keralam Assembly Elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has alleged that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is acting under the direct "control" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at a massive public rally, Gandhi did not mince words, drawing an international parallel to describe the current political climate in Keralam. He claimed that the relationship between the Keralam CM and the Prime Minister is reminiscent of how U.S. President Donald Trump allegedly exerts influence over PM Modi. Gandhi questioned why the Central agencies, which have been active against various opposition leaders across the country, have seemingly spared the Keralam Chief Minister. "The Prime Minister has a remote control. In Kerala, that remote control is used to manage the Chief Minister," Gandhi alleged. "It is exactly like how Donald Trump controls Mr. Modi. But let me tell you, the Prime Minister’s truth will soon emerge, and the people of Kerala will see the reality of this partnership." The Congress leader asserted that the upcoming election is not a three-way tie, but a direct fight between the United Democratic Front (UDF) and what he termed a "secret partnership" between the LDF and the BJP. Gandhi suggested that the Chief Minister’s reluctance to attack PM Modi directly stems from this "hidden understanding" aimed at keeping the Congress out of power.
