Trump on Iran: “We Cannot Let Them Have a Nuclear Weapon”

Donald Trump speaking about Iran and warning against allowing Tehran to obtain a nuclear weapon

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a blunt warning on Iran’s nuclear ambitions, saying the United States cannot allow Tehran to acquire a nuclear weapon.

“If they had a nuclear weapon, I'd be calling the Supreme Leader and I'd be saying, ‘Mr. Supreme Leader, how are you, sir? Is there anything we can do for you?’ as opposed to bombing the crap out of him,” Trump said.

Trump stressed that preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon remains a clear priority, adding, “It’s very simple. We cannot let them have a nuclear weapon.”

His remarks underscore the hard-line position he has taken on Iran’s nuclear programme, while contrasting diplomacy with the prospect of military action.
