Trump Says Iran Deal to Be Signed Sunday, Promises Open Hormuz Strait and Permanent Nuclear Restrictions

US President Donald Trump has announced that a new agreement between the United States and Iran is scheduled to be signed on Sunday, claiming the deal will permanently prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons and immediately reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz to international shipping.

In a statement posted on social media, Trump said, “The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL.” He described the proposed agreement as the exact opposite of the Obama-era nuclear deal, emphasizing that no money would be exchanged as part of the arrangement.

Trump further stated that the agreement would ensure Iran cannot obtain a nuclear weapon through development, purchase, or any other means. He also warned that if negotiations fail, the United States retains “the ultimate alternative,” signaling that military options remain on the table.

The announcement comes amid reports that US and Iranian negotiators, with international mediation efforts underway, are closer than ever to finalizing a framework aimed at ending months of regional tensions and restoring stability to global energy markets. However, Iranian officials have reportedly expressed caution regarding the timeline and specific terms of the proposed agreement.

The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most critical energy transit routes, would be a significant development for global oil and gas markets, potentially easing concerns over supply disruptions and regional security.

As diplomatic efforts continue, international observers are closely monitoring whether the agreement will be formally signed and how its provisions will be implemented in the coming days.
