Trump Claims US Has ‘Total Control’ Over Strait of Hormuz

US President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States has “total control” over the Strait of Hormuz, signalling that Washington intends to maintain its naval presence and blockade in the strategically vital waterway.

In a strongly worded statement, Trump described the US naval blockade as a “wall of steel” and asserted that Iran has limited ability to respond. He claimed that Iran’s navy and air force have been severely weakened and made further allegations about the condition of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Iranian military personnel.

Trump also highlighted what he described as Iran’s severe financial and economic problems, claiming that the country is facing soaring inflation and a deteriorating economy.

Calling Iran the “Bully of the Middle East No Longer,” Trump said the country’s remaining strength was largely limited to what he characterised as “fake news” and rhetoric.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most strategically important maritime chokepoints, connecting the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea.

Any prolonged disruption in the waterway could have significant implications for global energy markets and regional security.

Trump’s comments come amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran, with the status of the Strait of Hormuz remaining a major point of concern for international trade and energy supplies.
