The 26-year-old kicked off at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center with a convincing 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 dismissal of history-making qualifier Wu Yibing of China, returning to the Round of 16 for the fourth consecutive year in New York.

“I played a great match, because I feel like the level was quite high,” said Medvedev, who has yet to drop a set through three rounds. “I was serving a little bit better than him, and that was the key today. But it was a really tough match, a lot of tight games. I feel like the level was really high.”
