Uttarakhand waste management vehicles: Dhami flags off 15 vehicles in Khatima

Uttarakhand waste management vehicles were flagged off by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in Khatima as part of efforts to strengthen solid and liquid waste management in the region. The Chief Minister flagged off a fleet of 15 vehicles aimed at improving waste collection and management services across different areas.

The initiative includes seven electric waste collection vehicles provided by Nestle India under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the vehicles are intended to support cleaner and more efficient waste collection in several locations.

15 vehicles flagged off for waste management

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off the 15 vehicles in Khatima, marking a step towards strengthening local waste management infrastructure.

The fleet will support the collection and management of solid and liquid waste, helping local authorities improve waste-handling operations. The introduction of additional vehicles is expected to provide greater logistical support for waste collection in the areas covered by the initiative.

With growing attention on cleanliness, sustainable urban development and efficient waste disposal, strengthening waste collection infrastructure has become an important part of local civic management.

Seven electric vehicles provided by Nestle India

A key feature of the initiative is the deployment of seven electric waste collection vehicles. These vehicles have been provided by Nestle India under its Corporate Social Responsibility programme.

According to the Uttarakhand CMO, Nestle India has provided one electric waste collection vehicle each for seven locations.

The areas receiving the electric waste collection vehicles are:

Dharampur

Chhatarpur

Bindukhera (Fauji Matkota)

Kiratpur

Bagwala

Danpur

Nagla Tarai

The deployment of electric vehicles also highlights the role of cleaner mobility solutions in municipal waste management.
