West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday announced the party’s list of candidates for the upcoming West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections, calling it a “special day” for the organisation. In a message shared on social media, Mamata Banerjee extended her congratulations and best wishes to all nominated candidates, stating that the final list for 291 seats was prepared after “extensive discussions and careful scrutiny,” while keeping the party’s ideology and public expectations in focus. Highlighting inclusivity, the Chief Minister noted that the party has given special importance to marginalized communities by selecting more candidates than the total number of reserved seats. She underscored that the blend of youthful energy and experienced leadership would help continue Bengal’s development trajectory. TMC supremo also expressed confidence that the people of the state would once again support the TMC to ensure welfare and safeguard democratic values. She asserted that voters would respond democratically to the Bharatiya Janata Party and enable the formation of a fourth consecutive government under the party’s “Maa, Mati, Manush” philosophy. Emphasising accountability, she said the selected candidates are expected to serve with honesty, competence, and a strong sense of responsibility, further strengthening the state’s development journey. Appealing to voters, Mamata Banerjee urged the people of Bengal to support the TMC in order to protect the state’s identity and ensure its continued progress.
