As counting of votes continues for the West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections, Manoj Kumar Agarwal, the State Chief Electoral Officer, reaffirmed that the entire electoral process was conducted peacefully and efficiently.
He stated that the elections were carried out with full support from the Election Commission of India, backed by a well-prepared, skilled, and coordinated administrative machinery. The Commission’s top priority, he emphasised, was to ensure a free and fair voting environment so that the final results accurately reflect the will of the people.
Addressing concerns around the Falta constituency, Agarwal clarified that re-polling should not be viewed as a flaw but as a strong corrective mechanism to uphold electoral integrity. He assured that strict action would be taken wherever irregularities are identified.
He further highlighted that extensive webcasting, real-time surveillance, and stringent monitoring measures were implemented across polling stations, which helped prevent any major incidents and ensured transparency throughout the election process.
