Yogi Adityanath Orders Tight Security, 24-Hour Social Media Monitoring Ahead of Festivals
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday conducted a high-level review of the state’s law-and-order situation and preparations for upcoming festivals and holidays through video conferencing from Lucknow.
During the Yogi Adityanath festival security review, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure comprehensive arrangements for security, cleanliness and public facilities across Uttar Pradesh.
He said attempts to disturb festive celebrations would not be tolerated and called for strict action against people involved in violence, disorder or other unlawful activity.
‘No Conspiracy to Turn Festivities Into Chaos Will Be Tolerated’
Adityanath said:
“No conspiracy to turn the joy of festivities into chaos will be tolerated in the slightest.”
He directed police and district administrations to follow what he described as the government’s “zero tolerance” policy against anarchic and anti-social elements.
The remarks form part of the state government’s wider festive-season security preparations.
24-Hour Watch on Social Media Ordered
One of the key directives concerned social media monitoring.
Adityanath instructed officials to maintain a 24-hour watch on social media platforms and respond quickly to content that authorities consider capable of creating tension or disturbing public order.
He called for swift legal action against those spreading rumours, misleading information or provocative statements.
UP Police Already Intensifying Festive Patrols
The Chief Minister’s directions follow recent statewide instructions from senior Uttar Pradesh Police officials to increase patrols in markets, transport hubs and other crowded locations during the festive period.
DGP Rajeev Krishna has directed senior police officers and station house officers to personally conduct evening patrols in busy and sensitive areas.
Police have also been asked to strengthen traffic management, inspect firecracker shops and increase security at railway stations, bus terminals and other locations likely to see heavy public movement.
Focus on Cleanliness and Public Convenience
Adityanath also instructed civic and district authorities to ensure proper cleanliness and public amenities during the festival period.
The government’s preparations include crowd management, traffic regulation, sanitation and coordination among police, municipal bodies and district administrations.
Similar arrangements are being implemented for major events such as Deepotsav in Ayodhya, where authorities have deployed additional security personnel, CCTV surveillance and traffic-management measures.
Officials Asked to Act Quickly on Rumours
The Yogi Adityanath festival security review placed particular emphasis on preventing rumours from escalating into law-and-order problems.
Police cyber and intelligence units are expected to monitor online activity while district officials remain in contact with local communities and peace committees.
Authorities have been asked to verify potentially inflammatory claims quickly and take action under applicable laws where required.
Security Preparations Intensified Across Uttar Pradesh
The state government says its objective is to ensure that upcoming festivals and holidays pass peacefully without disrupting normal life.
The Chief Minister’s directives therefore combine preventive policing, social-media surveillance, sanitation, traffic management and rapid-response measures across Uttar Pradesh.
