Yogi Adityanath Praises Ram Nath Kovind’s Journey to Presidency
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised former President Ram Nath Kovind for his journey from a financially disadvantaged background in Paraunkh village to India's highest constitutional office. Recalling Kovind's early life and public service, Adityanath highlighted his education, legal career and political journey.
The Chief Minister said he had visited Paraunkh, Kovind's birthplace, several times and noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also visited the village.
From a Humble Background to Higher Education
Adityanath recalled that Kovind was born into an extremely poor family and lost his mother at a young age. Despite these hardships, he said, Kovind continued his education and studied at the village school before pursuing higher education.
According to Adityanath, Kovind did not allow his difficult circumstances to become an excuse to withdraw from life's challenges or seek personal concessions.
Legal Career and Service to the Underprivileged
Highlighting Kovind's career as an advocate, Adityanath said he became a voice for the poor and disadvantaged.
He also described Kovind's commitment to what he called India's nationalist mission, saying it became an important part of his public and political journey.
Kovind subsequently held several positions in public life, beginning with his association with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), followed by service as a Rajya Sabha member and Governor of Bihar.
From Bihar Governor to President of India
Adityanath highlighted Kovind's eventual elevation to the presidency, describing it as a significant milestone in his journey through public service.
Ram Nath Kovind served as the 14th President of India from 2017 to 2022. Reflecting on his tenure, Adityanath described him as one of the country's popular Presidents.
The Chief Minister's remarks focused on Kovind's perseverance, education and progression through legal and political life, presenting his journey as an example of advancement from modest beginnings to a major constitutional role.
