Young Boys Club Durga Puja 2026 Unveils ‘Ram Rajya’ Theme in Central Kolkata
Young Boys Club Durga Puja 2026 was inaugurated in Central Kolkata with the theme “Ram Rajya”, marking the club’s 57th year of Durga Puja celebrations.
Located on Tara Chand Dutta Street, the puja has presented this year’s theme as an artistic interpretation of an ideal society built around peace, justice, dignity, harmony and mutual respect.
The inauguration was attended by Union Minister of State for Education and Development of North Eastern Region Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, MLA Vijay Ojha, former councillor Meena Devi Purohit, BJP North Kolkata district president Tamoghna Ghosh, and members of the Young Boys Club organising team.

‘Ram Rajya’ Highlights Peace, Justice and Dignity
The central idea behind this year’s theme is to portray a social order where justice prevails, dignity is protected and people live together with mutual respect.
Through the concept of “Ram Rajya”, the organisers aim to communicate values such as compassion, responsibility, harmony and togetherness.
The club has sought to connect these ideas with the broader cultural and spiritual atmosphere of Durga Puja.

Eco-Friendly Pandal Made With Natural Materials
A major attraction of Young Boys Club Durga Puja 2026 is its environmentally conscious pandal.
Designed by artist Debshankar Mahesh, the structure has been created by skilled artisans from East Midnapore using a range of natural materials.
Dried leaves, fruits, flowers, seeds and fibre have been transformed through detailed craftsmanship into an immersive artistic installation.
The use of organic materials also complements the theme’s focus on harmony between society and nature.

Kushadhwaj Bera Crafts Durga Idol
The idol of Goddess Durga has been created by Medinipur-based sculptor Kushadhwaj Bera.
The idol forms a key part of the overall artistic presentation and adds to the traditional character of the pandal while the surrounding design explores a contemporary thematic narrative.

Rakesh Singh Says Puja Combines Devotion and Social Message
Young Boys Club chief organiser Rakesh Singh said Durga Puja provided an opportunity to combine devotion, creativity and a meaningful social message.
He said:
“Through ‘Ram Rajya’, we seek to present the vision of a society where peace, dignity, justice and mutual respect form the foundation of everyday life.”
Singh said the organisers hoped visitors would appreciate both the artistic presentation and the values represented by the theme.

Vikrant Singh Emphasises Harmony and Togetherness
Youth president Vikrant Singh said the theme was designed around values that could bring people together across communities.
He said:
“Through ‘Ram Rajya’, we want to highlight the importance of harmony, compassion, responsibility and togetherness.”
He added that such values acquire particular significance during Durga Puja, when people from different backgrounds come together through celebration and faith.

Traditional Craftsmanship Meets Contemporary Lighting
Co-organiser Vinod Singh said the club tries every year to combine artistic excellence with meaningful storytelling.
This year’s presentation blends natural materials, traditional craftsmanship and contemporary lighting to bring the theme to life.
According to Singh, the organisers are looking forward to welcoming visitors from across Kolkata to experience the 57th-year celebration.

Large-Scale Prasad Distribution Planned
The club has also planned large-scale prasad distribution during the Puja days.
The initiative is intended to allow devotees and visitors to participate more closely in the celebrations and reflects the inclusive character of the festival.

Young Boys Club Continues 57-Year Tradition
Situated on Tara Chand Dutta Street, which connects Central Avenue with Rabindra Sarani, Young Boys Club has continued its tradition of presenting Durga Puja as a combination of faith, art, culture and community engagement.

With “Ram Rajya”, the Young Boys Club Durga Puja 2026 seeks to offer visitors more than a visually elaborate pandal.

The organisers want the theme to leave behind a wider message of peace, dignity, justice and social harmony that continues beyond the festive season.
