Zohran Mamdani Urges US to Enforce Netanyahu ICC Warrant
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has called on the United States government to enforce the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant issued against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in 2024.

Speaking on the issue, Mamdani said the US should uphold international law by acting on the ICC's warrant, which was issued over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity linked to Israel's military operations during the Gaza war.
The ICC announced the warrant in 2024 as part of its investigation into the conflict, a move that drew strong reactions from governments around the world. Israel has rejected the allegations and disputes the ICC's jurisdiction over the matter.
Mamdani's remarks have reignited debate over the role of the United States in supporting international legal institutions and whether ICC decisions should be enforced when they involve close US allies.
The issue remains politically sensitive, with supporters arguing that international accountability must apply equally to all nations, while critics question the ICC's authority and impartiality in the case.
