72nd National Film Awards 2024 Winners Announced

72nd National Film Awards 2024 winners announced with Article 370 winning Best Feature Film and Yami Gautam, Mammootty and Kartik Aaryan receiving top acting honours.

The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards for the year 2024 were announced on Sunday, honouring outstanding achievements in Indian cinema across feature films, non-feature films and writings on cinema.

Article 370 emerged as the Best Feature Film, while Bhangaar won the Best Non-Feature Film award. Ram-Nami was recognised as the Best Documentary, highlighting excellence in non-fiction storytelling.

In the acting categories, Yami Gautam won the Best Actress in a Leading Role award for her performance in Article 370. The Best Actor in a Leading Role honour was shared by Mammootty for Bramayugam and Kartik Aaryan for Chandu Champion.

Randeep Hooda received the Best Debut Director award for Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, marking a significant milestone in his filmmaking career.

Several blockbuster films also secured major honours, including Kalki 2898 AD, Amaran, Pushpa: The Rule Part-02, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and Stree 2, reflecting the diversity, creativity and cinematic excellence of Indian films released during the year.

The awards were announced by Jayaraj, Chairperson of the Feature Film Jury, Aseem Sinha, Chairperson of the Non-Feature Film Jury, and A. Chandrasekhar, Chairperson of the Best Writing on Cinema Jury, in the presence of Dr. Ajay Nagabhushan M.N., Joint Secretary (Films), and Dhirendra Ojha, Principal Director General, Press Information Bureau (PIB).
